The Young Entrepreneurs Council of Solomon Islands (YECSI) is an organization created under a Public Private Partnership between the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) and Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI). YECSI is a key element in the National Youth Policy 2017 – 2030 focusing on economic growth through entrepreneurship.

YECSI in partnership with SICCI and Breadfruit Consulting developed the Teachim Me mentoring programme with SICCI members as mentors and YECSI members as mentees.

Mentoring is identified as a key ingredient to the success of any entrepreneur as mentors provide feedback, expertise and most importantly experience which entrepreneurs can learn and grow from. Having a mentor can make a huge difference in the journey of an entrepreneur, however to date there has been limited mentoring opportunities for young entrepreneurs, Teachim Me will bridge that gap.

Teachim Me 2021 is envisioned to run for a period of 6 months with mentoring sessions occurring on a fortnightly basis at a venue agreed upon by the mentor and mentee.

I understand that this is a voluntary role and that I will be expected to attend a minimum of two one-hour mentoring sessions a month for the duration of the programme. To my knowledge there is no reason why I should not be part of the program. I also understand I will declare any conflict of interest as soon as it is known.
